Prevention Supervisor
Our prevention team is committed to inspiring healthier choices and stronger communities by providing the education and support needed to prevent drug misuse, gambling addiction, and substance use disorders.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Prevention Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The Prevention Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing prevention strategies and programs designed to minimize risks, enhance safety, and improve overall organizational well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for maintaining public relations between the agency prevention department and community resources.
- Provide support, consultation, reinforcement and coordination to area communities, task forces, and agencies in an effort to unite and coordinate substance abuse prevention activities.
- Responsible for delivery of Prevention Services to clients.
- Responsible for maintaining continuous contact with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and prevention specialist(s) to assist in the development of new prevention programming.
- Responsible for supervision of the Northern region Prevention Staff at CFR, including training and development and performance management.
- Keep informed regarding new information relevant to substance abuse prevention and pass the new information on to staff.
- Responsible for preparation of prevention reports for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and additional funders as necessary.
- Assist in securing additional funding.
- Responsible for keeping informed of current budget to actual situation concerning the prevention budget and advising the Controller of fiscal needs.
- Develop and write policies and procedures in relation to the Prevention Department as needed.
Schedule:
- Type: Full-time
- Hours: 40 hours each week, generally Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p. Requires some flexibility for evenings and weekends when required for programming.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and three years of relevant experience required; Master’s Degree in public or community health, marketing, public relations, or related area and two years of relevant work experience preferred;
- Must be a Certified Prevention Specialist or be able to obtain certification within 18 months from date of hire.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
