Peer Recovery Coach

Boone, IA

Are you someone in recovery who wants to help others? Community and Family Resources is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Coach to serve as an advocate for our clients, families and their wellness, recovery, and services. The person in this role will serve clients in both our Boone and Webster City locations, and will travel between the two locations regularly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists clients and family members in understanding and accessing services.
  • Provides peer support and education to clients.
  • Attends conferences and team meetings as needed.
  • Develops and facilitates support groups and classes as directed.
  • Maintains documentation of contacts, activities, and units utilized for billing purposes.
  • Assists clients in articulating personal recovery and wellness goals by creating their own Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP).
  • Assists consumers in building social skills.
  • Assists with client education and/or employment goals and/or supported employment.

Schedule:

  • Type: Full-time
  • Hours: 40 hours each week. Monday-Friday, with flexibility for evenings and weekends depending on client needs.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Lived experience with substance use and/or gambling disorder issues is required.
  • Must be a graduate of Recovery Coach Academy Training approved by Iowa’s managed behavioral health care provider OR have ability to complete training upon hire.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance is required.
