Outpatient Addiction Treatment Counselor

We are seeking candidates for an Outpatient Addiction Treatment Counselor for our Intensive Outpatient level of care. This position involves carrying a caseload and facilitating groups each week plus individual sessions with your clients. This position will be located in Ames. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts individual assessment sessions for completion of comprehensive assessment histories of clients.
  • Assists in the development, coordination, and evaluation of the treatment program.
  • Conducts individual, family, and group sessions consistent with treatment plans.
  • Participates with the direct supervisor in development of recommendations for clients.
  • Prepares and distributes assessment results, reports, etc., as required and requested.
  • Maintains timely and accurate documentation reflective of client treatment plans and progress

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have active certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (tCADC, CADC, or IADC).
  • Bachelors degree in a related field is required. Candidates with an Associates degree and 3+ years of experience as a substance use or gambling treatment counselor may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • It is not required, but we highly value candidates with their own personal experience in recovery!

Schedule:

  • Type: Full-time
  • Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 12p-8:30p; Wednesday and Friday, 8a-4:30p
