We are currently seeking a Mental Health Therapist in our Des Moines location. This position is in an outpatient clinical setting. Our team strives to meet the clients where they are at and provide the services they need; whether that means mental health, substances use, or co-occurring disorders. We serve adults and adolescents and offer a therapist an opportunity to work with populations they have interest and expertise in.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts clinical assessments and provides diagnosis, treatment and referrals when indicated
  • Provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups as appropriate
  • Actively participates in therapy unit planning and functioning
  • Accurately and punctually completes needed clinical documentation
  • Provides education and consultative services to the community as requested
  • Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field is required.
  • Active Iowa License as a Mental Health Counselor (tLMHC or LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapist (tLMFT or LMFT) or Social Worker (LMSW or LISW) is required.
  • Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CADC or IADC) is preferred.

Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field is required.
  • Active Iowa License as a Mental Health Counselor (tLMHC or LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapist (tLMFT or LMFT) or Social Worker (LMSW or LISW) is required.
  • Certification as a substance abuse counselor (CADC or IADC) is preferred.

Schedule

  • Type: Full-Time
  • Hours: Flexible within business hours (Monday-Thursday, 8a-8p and Friday, 8a-5p). Prefer one evening per week to provide adequate availability for client scheduling.
